    The Chemung County Department of Health and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are coordinating to ensure the protection of public health related to the illegal possession of wild animals that have the potential to carry the rabies virus.

    On Oct. 30, DEC seized a raccoon and squirrel sharing a residence with humans, creating the potential for human exposure to rabies. In addition, a person involved with the investigation was bitten by the squirrel.

    Using that govt “logic” then the bitten person must be euthanized to determine if he was a rabies carrier. Plus, he might have bitten some or all of the other “investigators”. Gotta check ALL of them, right?

  33. I’ve never seen or heard of a squirrel that carried RABIES. Especially in the North! WTF! Are they going to start rounding up all the squirrels to murder them too? What’s the difference between one that lives in a home and one in a tree? Don’t get me started with Opossums either,. nitwits. We are definitely experiencing the LOW IQ outcome, of common core education. Terrifying that the stupid people are in power!

    This is Richard Rich, the (elected) judge who signed the warrant that killed Peanut. He was originally an independent, but started running as a democrat in 2013.
    So, yes, democrats actually did kill that poor little squirrel. And I am officially switching parties.

  47. On top of the obvious evil deeds, there’s also govt abuse of the English language. The govt thugs did not euthanize Peanut. Euthanasia is killing to alleviate pain and suffering. Peanut was not in pain. Peanut was not suffering, quite the contrary.

    The govt thugs KILLED Peanut. Calling it euthanizing is like calling it marmalade. Or body surfing. Mengele-ing might work, though.

    Please, when writing comments or talking about this gross abuse of power, do NOT use the word euthanasia. If somebody objects, explain why it’s the wrong word.
