Just The News: The Oregon governor’s race, which Republicans haven’t won in roughly 40 years, is now a “tossup,” according to a new analysis from the University of Virginia.
The updated analysis, or handicapping, moves the race from “Leans Democrat” and was conducted by Sabato’s Crystal Ball, at the university’s Center for Politics.
Crystal Ball also moved gubernatorial races in Arizona, Kansas, Nevada and Wisconsin in that direction, which means Republicans, now with about 18 weeks before the November elections, have a better likelihood of winning.
Respected handicapper Larry Sabato and his team also point out the Oregon race is between three candidates who are all recent members of the state legislature.
Democratic Gov. Kate Brown is leaving office and viewed by voters as “deeply unpopular,” according to Crystal Ball handicappers.
Republican candidate Christine Drazan was the state House minority leader while her Democratic opponent, Tina Kotek, served as state House speaker, and the independent candidate, Betsy Johnson, is a former Democrat and state senator. more

uh uh! It’s the Californians with temporary Portland addresses (using a friend’s residence) who control the elections in Oregon.
Hell will freeze over if Oregon elects a GOP governor. And that may be a good thing for normal Oregonians. We’ll see if this does come true.

What I’d like to see is Tiffany Smiley beat Patty Murray for the US Senate in Wash. state. Patty Murray does not deserve a 6th term as a US Senator. I’m hopefully believing that this can happen because the democraps with their ads about Patty Murray being a great senator and the negativity she’s showing Mrs. Smiley show that they may be scared of losing to a political newcomer. I hope that I’m right and I don’t trust Seattle and King County who will cheat to get the old lady in tennis shoes back into her supposedly annointed office for a 6th time. And all this for a dumbass who once proposed a bill for a 10,000 % tax on bullets.
