Disrn: Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said on Sunday that white people should shine the shoes of black strangers to show humility and embarrassment for racism — as he proceeded to shine rapper Lecrae’s shoes while he spoke.

“I invite folks just to put some words to action here and if we need to find somebody that needs to have their shoes shined, we need to just go right on over and shine their shoes,” Cathy said during a panel discussion about race and the church at a Georgia church.

Cathy said that he had once bought 1,500 shoe brushes for his employees so they could shine strangers’ shoes. more here

Not a single one is asking the most obvious question, a simple test, “If a black man did this to ME, how would I feel about it?” Make a black man bend a knee for you, make him shine your shoes, give you money, etc. Is that racist?   30. No Shit-O-Feelya within 50 miles of my home. Even if I were traveling through a city with a Shit-O-Feelya, I won’t stop and purchase anything. I’m not a fan of fast food in the first place. When I see who is working behind the counter, it makes me wanna hurl. I don’t trust anyone but me handling my food. I truly believe that white people are now the target to be poisoned, attacked, or murdered. Just try coming into my place of residence and see what happens.

  31. Someone yelled out Popeyes.

    For a long time I refused to go because they had something called ‘swamp water gravy’ and honestly- It looked and smelled like some stuff dogs throw up in the yard. And they always smelled of heavy grease. (this was in CA) So just on that, I never wanted to go into a Popeyes ever again. lol.

    Early this year, I went to one after they made the highly sought after chicken sandwich, which grown adults fist fought over for some reason. I had the sandwich. No flavor. lol! Now, it may have just been that particular pop’s or because I had sinus issues that cut off the smell and taste locations in my face. So I will give them another chance.
    I always give a restaurant 3 chances, 3 different locations, just to be fair.

Having said that I wonder how long the late founders son lied to him regarding supporting his dad’s beliefs in in order to ensure his control of the company. I also wonder what his father thinks of his son now?   56. SNS, Outland is a great sci fi movie. It is basically a remake of the Western classic High Noon set in outer space and and not a backwater Western town in the Old West. The day I saw it we were having a hellacious thunderstorm outside while I was inside watching a good Sean Connery movie. It was good guy vs. bad guys with most of the other people scared shitless to do anything about it and few if any others coming to his aid to get rid of the bad guys just like High Noon.

    I am not into falling for cult of personality and have never praised his virtue as others have done. I feel no sense of loss or betrayal. All I have ever done is say that I support the fact that he has taken a position that I consider virtuous.

    It used to be that if the kids wanted Chic-fil-A I would drive across town to get what they wanted. We haven’t been to a Chic-fil-A in a year now. To be honest, they haven’t ask to go either. They used to ask all the time.

    The wife LOVES CfA so we’ll probably still go there even after this. I will NEVER go on my own again.
