Attorney and Conservative leader Mark Meckler has stepped down as interim CEO of the social media app Parler, saying his efforts to get the site back online have been accomplished, he said in a statement Monday.
Meckler’s announcement came at about the same time Parler announced it is back on Apple’s App Store, after the app was removed from iPhones and Android devices in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
“My mission in joining Parler was to help get the platform back up, operating and stabilized, and I am proud to say we have accomplished that,” said Meckler, president of the Convention of States group and co-founder of the group Tea Party Patriots. more
Is that Candace’s husband?
@dee–Candace is married to George Farmer
So…….Parler is back in good graces with Apple & Android (GagMe)…….but on what terms?
“Parler said its app has relaunched on Apple devices after “months of productive dialogue.””
Exactly what did the dialog produce and what did it do to make Parler acceptable?
Thanks for reminding me to delete parler.
The “app” is a near carbon copy of their mobile website, and it downloaded and installed instantly. My impression is that it’s just a shortcut to the regular site, which is set up as a PWA (progressive web app) like Gab.
At least Gab is forthcoming enough to tell its members there’s no “app” in the traditional sense and gives them instructions on how to set up the shortcut on their phones.
Went back for 15 min. then deleted the account and left.
