6. We put molasses coated grain in the feed hoppers of the milking parlor. The cows lined up to be milked early because they knew “cow candy” was waiting for them. Between the sugar high and their udders being empty they definitely had a kick in their step as they left the parlor.

8. That is a gorgeous barn setup and great looking Polled Herefords!

   Happy, clean, healthy, grass-fed cattle = great milk and beef. (My folks raised Herefords – intelligent, gentle animals with a surprising sense of humor!)

    I was walking my dog down an almost austrian and not quite swiss alps mountain one time and went through an almost swiss miss looking herd of cattle. They ran over to see us. It sounded like every one of them had a cowbell on and it was quite an idyllic racket. My dog loved it. I will always remember that weekend. Oh, I have it on video, as well.
