Pay to Pray – Guy Makes Over $7 Million Charging People for Prayers Online

Benjamin Rogovy

OC: Between 2011 and 2015, Seattle “businessman” Benjamin Rogovy made millions of dollars by taking advantage of people’s religious beliefs. Through his website, ChristianPrayerCenter.com, he led people to believe that ministers and religious leaders would pray for them if they paid between $9 and $35 for the service. He managed to convince hundreds of thousands of people to participate in the scam, becoming the sole recipient of all their donations.

To make the internet scam seem genuine, Rogovy posed as Pastor John Carlson, a fictitious character with a professional-looking LinkedIn profile. He created other fake profiles for ministers who could provide private consultations and perform religious ceremonies through ChristianPrayerCenter.com and its Spanish version, OracionCristiana.org. 1. Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

    Ephesians 5:6

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

    2 Timothy 3:13

But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Benjamin Rogovy’s heart is as dark and ruthless as satan himself
He will reap what he has sown.

  2. I had some fake religious scam artist send me a “prayer cloth” along with a poorly typed letter that said if I would pray over the rag and send it back to the son of a bitch with some money he would say a prayer over it and my wishes would be granted — or some crap line like that.

So I gave the bastard the AARP treatment and glued my donation, in pennies, to that letter and told him to shove those pennies up his ass, and I mailed it back to him in the pre-paid postage envelope he foolishly provided.

The 700 Club Prayer Center was officially launched in 1974 to answer calls 24 hours a day. It received 279,902 calls in its first year. At an average of more than 14,000 daily inbound/outbound/web chat contacts, we anticipate processing nearly five million contacts this year.

Christians are to be as wise as serpents. The snake’s eyes never close. Don’t Tread On Me!

  3. “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15

“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” Matthew 7:16

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

I’m sorry to say too many Christians are suckered just like anybody else, especially when the need is great in time of turmoil and hardship. At one time in my life things were really bad, and I would have listened to the demons in Hell if I had thought they were sincere in helping me.

    Wisdom. It’s getting scarcer.

  4. I give my tithe to my church and if there is anything else needed, we take up a special offering. The minister and elders gather round and lay hands on people for needs and healing.
