Pennsylvania Court: Digital Images of Completed Absentee and Mail-In Ballots are Public Records

GP:
In a landmark decision, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania has ruled that digital images of completed absentee and mail-in ballots are to be considered public records.

This pivotal ruling stems from a case involving appellant Michelle Previte, who sought to obtain electronic copies of these ballots from the 2020 General Election via Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law (RTKL).

The case began when Previte submitted RTKL requests to the Erie County Board of Elections, seeking access to digital images of all mail-in and absentee ballots, as well as images of the outer envelopes and polling place ballots from the November 2020 election. more

  1. Well, it’s going to take us some time to get those records that you requested vetted in order to comply with the Election Code’s rules of disclosure. We anticipate having them available sometime in 2029.

Or, the Kamala excuse. They were in the cloud but it rained.

  2. Maybe someone can explain why Trump was leading by 800,000 votes in 2020 when 6 states mysteriously shut down their counting all at once. When they started again 1 1/2 hours later Biden was leading in Pennsylvania.

  3. richard,
it was never intended for Trump to get 800,000 votes ahead before the hanki-panki got underway.
But Liz Cheney was late coming out of the bathroom.

  4. Here’s an idea!
Do your patriotic duty and vote in person.
    No mailing needed or allowed.
Absentee ballots allowed on a very limited basis, as it always has been.
