PennLive: The Department of Homeland Security referred to the three shootings in Harrisburg on Friday as “a terror attack.”
Tyler Q. Houlton, acting press secretary for agency, tweeted a statement Saturday about the incidents. Houlton said that Ahmed El-Mofty was a naturalized U.S. citizen who was admitted to the country from Egypt on a family-based immigration visa.
“The long chain of migration that led to the suspect’s admission into the United States was initiated years ago by a distant relative of the suspect,” Houlton said in a release. “One of the most recent links in that chain was an extended family member admitted into the United States from Egypt on an F24 visa.”
Houlton also said another individual in an unrelated matter accused of laundering bitcoins to support ISIS is a naturalized U.S. citizens from Pakistan on an F43 visa.
“These incidents highlight the Trump administration’s concerns with extended family chain migration,” he said. “Both chain migration and the diversity lottery program have been exploited by terrorists to attack our country.”

Police have killed the suspect in a series of three shootings that occurred throughout downtown Harrisburg and Allison Hill on Friday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect late Friday as 51-year-old Ahmed Amin El-Mofty. According to Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico, El-Mofty had ties to Harrisburg and Cumberland County and recently took a trip to the Middle East.
Around 4 p.m. on Friday, in the area of 3rd and State Streets, multiple shots were fired at an occupied Capitol Police car. The window of the car was broken, and the officer inside was not harmed.
About twenty minutes later, El-Mofty opened fire on a Pennsylvania State Police vehicle. Read the rest at FOX
