American Thinker: If you think risking public safety for political gain is a bridge too far, even for a Democrat politician, you need look no further than Pittsburgh’s City Democrat Councilman Ricky Burgess to dispel any notion of it.
It’s only been less than a month since the Fern Hollow Bridge in Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhood collapsed on Jan. 28; coincidently coinciding with Biden’s already scheduled trip to the city to tout his infrastructure plan.
For Joe Biden, and a beleaguered White House staff, waking up to news of bridge’s falling must’ve seemed like a providential gift for an administration desperate for a break from negative news of the president’s plummeting poll numbers.
No doubt the president was sincere, like everyone else, in his relief that there were no serious injuries or deaths from the bridge failure, but he must’ve also felt at least a tinge of relief to finally have an opportunity for a much-needed photo-op of him looking presidential.
Later that afternoon on the day the bridge collapsed, a serious and stoic Joe Biden proclaimed from the edge of the fallen bridge, his bewilderment to learn, despite being a “Pennsylvania Boy,” that Pittsburgh, the City of Bridges, boasted more bridges than any other city in the world. Neither the enormity of the heaping mess of tangled bridge structure laying in the deep snowy ravine below before him, where joggers and hikers abound in warmer months making frequent use of the trails now hidden beneath the rubble nor that of the nation’s crumbling infrastructure in need of replacement daunted Scranton Joe.
Instead, an invigorated Biden would proclaim, “And, we’re going to fix them all, no joke.” more h/t NAAC
Anytime the word “Infrastructure” leaves a politicians mouth, just substitute the work “Grift” and you’ll understand what they are talking about.

I had noticed his byline missing here for some time and heard rumors of this from another quarter, but as is always the case with those you care about, the hope was that the report was in error.
I am saddened to hear that was not the case.
But sorrow will not turn this around, nor will worry help heal. Only an appeal to the Ultimate Physician can do that, with faith in His power and trust in His mercy that He can, and He will, show His glory in triumph over this man-caused disease. Without regard for the politics of this world or the foibles of the men that inhabit it, let us pray that the Lord may write His healing upon the brow of our companion and ringmaster, our own beloved BFH.
Dear Lord, we approach Your Throne this day with supplications and pleadings for Your mercy upon this child of yours known to us as BFH, whose true name was known to You since he was formed in the womb, that he may have relief from this scourge of man, made by men to assault the Lord’s own, that men may see that the Lord’s healing is stronger. Please walk around his bedside, Lord, touch his body with Your healing, guide his doctors with Your strong hand, mix his medicine with the healing of Your name, that he may have a testimony of Your healing to share with us soon and very soon. Heal his lungs Lord, clear his throat, replace the disease in his body with praise in his heart, restore him to us that he may use his hard-built platform to Your glory as he uses his considerable talent to share with us the miracle that You even now are visiting his body with, that he may tell us of the full and complete healing he received at Your hands soon and very soon.
We thank You and praise You for all You have done for us, and we look forward in faith in the healing You will visit on him as we are hoping, praying, and expecting Your healing as we stand upon Your promise, and ask that You touch his nearest and dearest with the certain knowledge of the healing You already have on the way, and we ask this all in the merciful Name of Your Son Jesus, amen.
