  1. Thanks MJA. I was already home in MD when this occurred.
It looks like it was headed toward downtown Philly when it crashed after taking off from NE Philadelphia airport. A few minutes later and that would have been a major disaster.

  3. …the reporterette is going ‘We have no official word on if there are any survivors from the plane”…

    NO.

    NO.

That thing hit like a MISSLE. They arent going to find anything recognizably HUMAN, let alone ALIVE.

    ..Use the brain, kids.

…and theyre back to 6 on the plane. 4 crew, 1 child, and 1 escort/family member.

…and God knows how many on the ground…

“I read a rumor that it was suspected that an oxygen tank on the plane/jet caught fire and blew up. ”

…Oxygen itself is not flammable, but it does vigorously accellerate combustion. Things used in a high oxygen environment may become saturated, however, making a blanket or pillow burn much more readily. This being designed for medical use in aviation it would likely have been designed with intrinsically safe components like switches and relays, but given the age of the aircraft whether that was continued over the course of 4 decades is debatable. I also dont know the rules for a medical flight. In a normal commercial flight the cockpit would be locked and not subject to a flash fire from the cabin, but perhaps these types of flights where all participants are already known to each other has different rules; also, a pilot could have been ducking out for a pee at a very bad moment.

Keep this in mind as you go about your daily life how randomly you can die.

Not one person on the ground had any reason to think they would be involved in a plane wreck, but involved they were.

Be prayed up and ready to go at all times, because you never know when a high velocity plane part’s going to come through a diner window at you…
