WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — A woman who’d been in the hospital and then rehab for weeks found out her home had been burglarized, and police say they caught three people in the act.
A West Palm Beach police officer was called to the scene Thursday and said he met the property manager. She said a neighbor told her someone may have broken into the apartment and explained the situation with the tenant.
The officer wrote in the arrest report, “I knocked on the door to the apartment and announced ‘police.’ At this time no one came to the door and [complex name] maintenance used the key and opened the door. As maintenance opened the door, I observed a [man] inside of the apartment.” more here

I have recieved patients that show up (dumped) at the nursing home by the hospitals because the shelters are full and geripsych is worthless. These people will eat food off others plates right in front of them, wipe their asses with anything, piss on someone else’s bed, walk behind the nurses station and steal anything they can get their hands on, hit the facility staff, and have no payor source. But the state won’t let the facility discharge them because there’s simply nowhere for them to go and we must provide for their safety, health and dignity. These same bureaucrats pat themselves on the backs for solving the problem by forcing someone else to deal with the actual problem.
