Jan. 6 ‘had a point’, they needed just enough violence to shut down congress.
Once all of the objections to certifying the election were filed, they called an emergency shutdown of congress, ending that legislative session.
Then reopened a new congress. Since all of the objections had been filed in the old session, they could not be re-introduced. Therefore they were able to certify the vote, showing no objections.
