One of the ideas promoted at the Portland protests is to abolish all mayors and to promote more autonomous communities (as just experienced with the Portland Red House Autonomous Zone) by following the successful model of Syria.
At the thousand person Portland protest rally on September 26th, one of the booklets available was entitled “Abolish All Mayors” (notice the bashed Portland City Hall window on the book cover) by a group called Symbiosis PDX.
They offered civil-war torn Northern Syria as a role model saying;
“Since 2012 a movement in Northern Syria has developed which has put these politics to practice for 8 years. Millions of people everyday are involved in self-governing their own communities to great success. A living confederation of ethnically diverse self-governing communities exist in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria also known as Rojava. The parallels between this system and Portland’ Neighborhood Revolution” in realizing the potential of directly democratic self-governance are hard to miss.” more
Syria and success don’t go together, neither does Portland without a Mayor or any form of govt. to maintain order or not in Portland’s case. This is just a recipe for anarchy and chaos like with Antifa/BLM running the show, good luck with that you progtard dumbasses.
There’s something to be said for smaller and smaller political units. It would be much more likely that you’d know where the boss/warlord lives, what kind of car he drives, and where his kids go to school.
I don’t know about the Syria model. But honestly, at this point I am so sick of the government I am willing to entertain any idea that limits the power of these dictatorial clowns. Fuggem’ we don’t need them.

Portland is a failing city, it will be up to the people living there, not the government, to do something about it to restore it as a functional city after the breakdown has finished.
Which is unlikely to happen.
This is pretty much the same direction most of our country is starting to head or already heading in.

My guess is that these places in Syria exist because they have no resources that anyone wants, material, mineral, agricultural, or geo-strategic.

The first step to saving Portland is to get communists/democrats out of entire election process. Then shit can diversity, political correctness, and Affirmative Action.
