Fiat Chrysler, U.S. Union UAW At Table As Strike Looms.
OAN: DETROIT (Reuters) – With a threatened strike hanging over them, negotiators from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and the United Auto Workers union continued to meet on Wednesday afternoon, a Fiat Chrysler spokeswoman said.
The U.S. union on Tuesday called for a strike against Fiat Chrysler’s U.S. operations at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday (0359 GMT Thursday) unless a new agreement on a four-year contract is reached.
There are 40,000 Fiat Chrysler UAW workers who could strike.

I had a relative who was a UAW skilled tradesman (Tool & Die Maker) who did about 20 years at GM. Even he admitted the UAW severely overreached with things like the Jobs Bank which according to Automotive News: “Perhaps nothing did more to damage the reputation of the UAW — and the U.S. automakers that employed its members — than the Jobs Bank, a program that paid excess workers to do nothing all day. “
