OK-
Professional golfer Jeffrey Guan recently suffered an unfathomable setback that will affect the rest of his life both on and off the course, but is bound and determined to not let it keep him from chasing his dream of being a household name in the sport.
Guan, 20, made his PGA Tour debut in September at the Procore Championship, but just one week after achieving that goal, the Aussie was struck in the left eye with an errant teeshot during a qualifier. He was immediately taken to a local hospital to undergo surgery before being airlifted to another hospital where he spent two weeks in intensive care.
Despite the immediate medical attention, Guan suffered several fractures around his left eye socket and completely lost vision in the eye. more
Courses have been warned to keep an eye out for this guy…
Too soon, Harry! Too soon!
🙂
I wasn’t there!
Wish him well on him journey. Who knew golf was a hazardous sport? I’d heard of people being hit by clubs during a swing being injured but not the ball.
See! I knew there was a reason I never took up the game.
Maybe it was being a caddy a few times…
If he gets hit by another golf ball in his new glass eye that would be a shattering experience. Are we sure it wasn’t a Red Ryder BB gun?
This is enough to make my wear safety glasses when I go golfing in the future. Although, at my level of play, I expect errant tee shots; so much so that I almost always stand at least ten yards directly behind whoever is teeing off.
If banning golf could save just one….!
A pro golfer can hit a drive at upwards of 190 mph. I don’t want to get hit with that.
Never go golfing with Jerry Ford or bird hunting with Dick Cheney.
