Federal prosecutors investigating former White House adviser Steve Bannon admitted Monday they mistakenly captured records of other people with the same name as Bannon’s lawyer.
The Justice Department, in a 10-page filing, acknowledged that errors were made while trying to obtain email and phone logs of Bannon’s attorney Robert Costello, Politico reported.
Bannon’s trial for contempt of Congress is scheduled to begin July 18, though attorneys representing former President Donald Trump’s chief strategist are trying to have the charges thrown out. more
What??
I’m not a lawyer, but the very idea that federal prosecutors are trying to obtain the phone and email records of a Bannon’s LAWYER!!?
This sounds like a violation of attorney client privilege.
Are there any lawyers here who can explain this to me, please?
Graceia: the concept is simple. Bannon worked for Orange Man. Orange Man bad. Constitutional protections do not apply.
I hope that clears it up.
The US Department of Justice sucks.
Yes, our procedures were in error, but we know he is guilty, so let us drag this farce on
When you’re fabricating “evidence”, it matters who you’re targeting.
It’s an entirely political prosecution to begin with. So, of course the DoJ cunts are shitting on other people’s rights too. They don’t give a fuck. They don’t have to. Nobody is stopping the new US Stasi.
Everyone should know by now it’s just another Democratic smear campaign.
“THEY” are in complete control. And “WE” don’t have anybody with enough balls to even try to stop them and at times it seems to even “TRY”.
