FOX Business: Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., refused to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally in Detroit, Michigan on Friday.
Tlaib appeared alongside fellow “squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and members of the United Auto Workers union. While Ocasio-Cortez and other speakers threw their support behind Harris, Tlaib only urged Michiganders to get out and vote and didn’t mention Harris, according to the Detroit News.
“Don’t underestimate the power you all have,” she told rally-goers. “More than those ads, those lawn signs, those billboards, you all have more power to turn out people that understand we’ve got to fight back against corporate greed in our country. … We’ve got to make sure that the nonpartisan part of the ballot gets filled in.”
Tlaib has been heavily critical of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza. Her stance mirrors that of many Muslims and Arabs in the U.S., a demographic that has a large representation in Michigan. more
…Muslims go by the concept of ummah, that they are united by being Mohamadans in a way that trancends everything else. Political, national, local and civic affiliations are secomdary considerations if they are considerations at all, and there is no loyalty to anything but to their “prophet”.
Tlab is only being true to that. Neither candidate will publicly agree to a new Jewish Holocaust, so neither candidate gets her endorsement.
Its that simple.
If Kakula wins it’s every man for himself.
i sense division in the ranks of dems.
Eventually Evil fails.
It turn on itself and eats itself.
You can’t please everyone all the time, how about just Real Americans for a change?
Identity politics will eventually bite you in the ass.
Yes, we should prepare for anything but there may not be enough of them opposing Trump left to cause chaos. (I’m sure they can hire some though.) Personally, locally, I can’t find anyone who is willing to say they’re voting for Harris. The Walkaway movement has been around for awhile & gaining a lot of steam & there’s a new one called Teach Dems A Lesson that’s mostly independents & classical liberals who don’t want to give up on the party just yet but are mad as you know what. Sure there are people voting for her but the mood out there isn’t sympathetic to Dems right now.
And, yet, Fox is already starting to annoy me by being so enamored of their “it’s tied/neck & neck” polls. I may actually stop watching them today. 😒
