CFACT.org:
In a recent letter to the MIT community, Massachusetts Institute of Technology President Rafael Reif criticized President Trump’s decision to exit the Paris climate agreement for ignoring “consensus” climate change science. “Other nations have made it clear that the deal is not open for renegotiation,” he asserted. “And unfortunately there is no negotiating with the scientific facts. I believe all of us have a responsibility to stand up for concerted global action to combat and adapt to climate change.”
Fortunately, contrary to Professor Reif’s claims, the actual current scientific understanding of Earth’s climate dispels the popular delusion that any global warming is manmade and will be dangerous. That means adhering to the Paris agreement would be “a bad deal for America,” and not only on economic and equity grounds, as President Trump stated.
It would also be a terrible deal on scientific grounds, because evidence-based science clearly shows that the agreement would do nothing to prevent or control global warming or climate change, despite the trillions of dollars it would cost the United States and world.
CO2 did not cause the warming since the Little Ice Age
There is no science unambiguously establishing that the tiny portion of carbon dioxide (CO2) in our Earth’s atmosphere (400 parts per million or 0.04%) is the primary cause of the warming observed since the Little Ice Age ended in the mid-nineteenth century. In fact, science has repeatedly demonstrated the opposite, while also showing the benefits of more carbon dioxide and warming.
Ice cores have revealed that changes in CO2 concentration follow rather than precede changes in temperature. As the latest high-resolution records show, during the last deglaciation, atmospheric CO2 lagged temperature increases by 50 to 500 years. MORE
“Rafael Reif” Yea well, sounds like an ex janitor with an ax to grind.
“…combat and adapt to climate change…”
How about we just take the weather as it comes, Rafael. End this endless war, as they say.
According to that forecast, I would plan to visit a deep dark cave on Friday.
Off the record….would bad-brad be willing to give me a heads up on personal protection? Just returned to the states and live in remote north ga and I worry about my wife living out in the woods…Thanks!
Reif we Know you’ve run out of other Peoples Money , and We’re wanting to make Sure you Don’t Starve… So Repeat after Me
MOMMY MOMMY Help they Won’t give Me Free Money, and I’m Hungry !
Consensus, sounds like a bunch of sheep.
If there is a “consensus”, it cannot be science.
What a load of fetid road apples.
It was never about “climate” or weather or science. It was about using the so-called “National Security Threat” by obama and his pals — primarily the bureauweenies of the EU and their friends, the global banking (think Bilderbergs and the IMF) guys — to gut the U.S. of what’s left of our natural resources and money and parcel it out to third world “developing” countries where the players were all set to “administer” (with a healthy cut) Uncle Sam’s largesse.
CCX, Gore and the others involved in that scheme should have been investigated ten years ago. I haven’t read the terms of the Paris thing, but a lot of our wealth was supposed to go to offset our so-called carbon footprint. Does that make any sense at all when you compare the U.S. sophisticated and over-regulated anti-pollution measures against China and India, two countries which were exempted from the pollution language in the Accord?! It was never about global warming. It was never about protecting the environment.
…not to put too fine a point on it: Trump was right to get us out that thing because you can’t MAGA while your national treasure is making its way across the Atlantic on pallets.
Your little weather forecast graphic makes a good point: one good sized meteor hitting Earth, or a massive volcano eruption, could obliterate much of humanity in a short period of time, making all this fretting over man made climate change frivolous.
– Nonetheless, to do my part, I’m not cutting my grass this week
Lol @ Mr AR, I first read your reply as, “…not going to cut the cheese this week.”
Thanks for the laugh 😄
Beware of corny slogans like “…get the science right.”
“Consensus science” = junk science
Facts don’t matter to lunatic lefties, but $$$$ do.
Erdogan let slip, no US dollars, no deal. Regardless of the G20 signators (minus 1), the climate change scam will die a slow death. To save face, the globalists will opine from the dais their committed determination to march on without the US, to save the planet.
The EU’s Adopt A Refugee program will bleed the coffers dry. Brexit, coupled with the loss of wads of US cash from Paris CC agreement, ensures they’ll revisit a more robust agreement post Trump.
Climate “agreement” = shakedown.
Red, Brad has mentioned in the past that a Glock 19 is excellent, but in my opinion nothing, and I mean nothing, is more deadly than a shot gun. A Mossburg 500 20 gauge would be the thing. I personally keep a 1911 Colt 45. (and other assorted fun stuff) I think a Colt 45 acp has proven itself such that it was standard WWII issue and is all you would need but any quality weapon has value. We have them so we won’t ever need them.

Sorry, I missed your post. I agree with JPM back in the woods screams Shotgun. If you want to get her something she can carry take a look at the Smith and Wesson Shields in 9mm. It’s a single stack mag and fits womens hand a lot better than a double stack.
Brad, I bought mrs6pak one this past weekend. She said its cute. She laughed of course, seems to fit her hand comfortably. We’ll take it out in the next few days.
Joe,
I hope she likes it. They sell those things like hot cakes around here. Mainly to women. It’s a nice concealable weapon.
She doesn’t care that much about guns but she wants to know the basics of handling it. She is not interested in going into Cabella’s with me but she’s interested in what I get. She is a good sport, I think I’ll keep her.
