WaTimes-

Rep. Dan Crenshaw was hit with a large fine by the Federal Election Commission after findings that his campaign failed to properly return hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal campaign contributions.

The Texas Republican’s campaign committee was fined $42,000 for failing to give back over $220,000 in illegal donations, according to court documents.

“The committee received excessive and apparent prohibited contributions aggregating $223,460.26 for the 2020 primary and general elections from 125 individuals, one non-qualified political action committee, one qualified multicandidate committee, four corporations, and three LLCs,” the documents read, citing the referral from the general counsel’s office. more

  1. This guy was great… for a couple of months. SEAL, eye patch, cool guy, and he supported the right things, said the right things. And then he started talking about ‘we need to do something about globull warming’, and ‘we need red flag laws’. And then last week he came out as a total wuss, lashing out on X against ‘mean people’. This guy needs help.

  2. I wish this was the beginning of campaign funds abuse justice.

But we all know, Dems and RINOs will never bring ‘justice’ to those who bend at the congressional alter of corruption.

I suppose Crenshaw just couldn’t bend over far enough.

  3. Leave Crenshaw alone! Have you guys no decency?

Hasn’t the man suffered enough already? For God’s sake guys this unfortunate man has been undergoing therapy and is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress ever since that unfortunate glory hole accident cost him an eye

  4. RINO ! Yeah, he bent over for McCarthy, Johnson or any democrat fund raisers.
    I don’t care if he was a penguin, he’s a turncoat.
He needs to be stripped of any committee assignments.

  5. Not my congress critter, but he winds up on TV here a lot. Been sick of him for a couple years, which isn’t to say I hate the guy, but he seems to have that GOPe tendency that serves the nation so poorly. I suspect his fluency in Spanish helps him campaign. In may ways Texas is a bilingual state, if you want to run you have to have some Spanish fluency. I suspect he’ll eventually make a gaffe he can’t recover from and draw a primary challenge, and/or make a play for Cornyn’s senate seat.

  6. “and/or make a play for Cornyn’s senate seat.”

I don’t think so. Every ones onto this self serving prick. That Cat turd guy, also a Texas resident, gutted Captain One Eye from stem to stern last week. It wasn’t pretty. I mean don’t get me wrong, making it through BUDS is pretty damn impressive. It was all down hill from there.

  7. @Brad,

“I mean don’t get me wrong, making it through BUDS is pretty damn impressive.”

It is. I did a Geology field program with an Air Force pilot as a lab partner. Six weeks living in a tent, hiking 10 – 15 miles every day above 8000 feet. We put a couple people on planes home with broken legs & arms and automatic “F” grades. His comment at the end was “harder than basic, but easier than survival school”. BUDS alumni usually pass survival school (after escaping on the first night) with the instructors begging them on bull horns to come back in so they can graduate.

“It was all down hill from there.”

It seems like it, and then I start making comparisons… At least he deployed, and didn’t put tampon dispensers in the boys restrooms. I keep finding myself expecting him to discover that you can’t make deals with the Communists, and there are some hard lines in the sand that you don’t cross. And that’s where he fails… He keeps disappointing everyone by being willing to talk about crossing some of those lines, while he’s busy behind the scenes spending like a drunken sailor.

Soooo … the $42,000 is just a tax on illegal donations?
They get to keep the $178,000 w/o penalty?
