Cick on DETROIT – Rep. John Conyers is just hours away from announcing his future political plans following multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
Conyers will make an announcement Tuesday morning that could send shock waves through Washington. The long-time congressman will decide on his political future amid the allegations.
His attorney said they’ve thoroughly thought out the decision.
“At first I thought we would write down the pros and cons,” attorney Arnold Reed said. “That worked for about five minutes.”
Over three days and three notepads later, Conyers and Reed have weighed all the options on the table.
“He took himself out as the congressman, and was an ordinary man, thinking, ‘What would ordinary people want from him?'” Reed said.
Reed said Conyers is most concerned about the impact on his family and his ability to serve constituents while facing sexual harassment allegations.
“We had to take this slow because of his health, and I didn’t want to tire him out,” Reed said.
Laid up in a hospital bed due to a stress-related illness Conyers considered his health issues, legacy and what he feels is a lack of due process, Reed said.
It’ll be iconic.

It is appalling everybody’s talking about whether a pattern of sexual harassment makes Conyers unfit for office rather than saying he’s unfit because he’s literally losing his mind. I’m not talking about being a leftist, I mean the Alzheimer’s, dementia, or whatever that’s been reported for YEARS.
This happens to people – people I love, and probably ones you have too. Also people we despise. In either case friends and family take away the car keys, hide the pills, etc., but where a powerful political office is in the mix, the handlers and the machine prop up the withering carcass until the flesh literally rots away. The mind is considered optional.
Elder abuse is a national tragedy in nursing homes; it’s even worse in politics, where the victims are not only the abused themselves but the people they supposedly represent. This is not representative government, this is organized crime.

It looks like according to the Drudge Report and Fox News he has resigned this morning. And of course he wants his son to run for his seat in Congress, hopefully the people of Detroit aren’t that stupid to elect his son to replace him.
Contrast the way these democrats are treated today with the way Senator Bob Packwood (R) was treated 20 years ago. Outrage and consequences are tailored for the party affiliation.
Conyers endorsed his 27 year old aspiring rapper son to replace him. The same son who was driving around Conyers government issued Cadilac Escalade and pictured under aged with a bottle of Moët behind the wheel. Hmmm… He sounds infinitely qualified. (ROLLS EYES).
How the hell do you get a govt. issued Cadillac Escalade. If this bum is only 27 and the stupid people of Detroit elect him to Congress, he could carry on the family tradition of political graft for the next 60 yrs. and between the two of them with Sr. at 52 yrs. in Congress and assuming Jr. does 60 yrs. it would be the year 2077 before they finally get rid of the Conyers clan. It’s no wonder Detroit is a democrap hellhole. Detroit deserves better than this would be rapper grifter.
