California’s homeless industrial complex was established a very long time ago. I remember from a few years ago that it cost taxpayers $800K for every person taken off of the street.

I knew a fellow who worked for a company that was building low income housing – basically, the homeless could live there for free. If I recall correctly, the per unit cost was over $300k – perhaps higher.
A short distance from that project was a condominium complex. One could purchase a 2 bedroom condo for less than half that. You do the math – apparently California pubic officials can’t.
