DCN:
NBC News reported that Augustus Doricko, the CEO of Rainmaker, a weather modification company, said planes had released silver iodide in the atmosphere in Texas two days prior to the fatal floods that have claimed over 100 lives.
Now, what are we to believe? Doricko claims the cloud seeding operations did not cause the flooding in Texas. more
Why are people always touching stuff?
This actually doesn’t surprise me. Texas has been under exceptional drought conditions for more than a year. The reservoir the Guadalupe runs into was at stage 4 drought, and only 45%-ish percent full on Thursday.
Silver iodide is standard old school cloud seeding. Lots of arid places try it. I am kind of curious who was paying for it, as it’s not exactly cheap. But it was two days earlier, and further south. They’re also saying they stopped because the atmospheric moisture content was too high. Need to drag his a** in front of the legislature and get some answers.

Don’t Spray my atmosphere, assholes. nobody authorizes that.
and the lakes and rivers aren’t near empty because of drought it’s because of overconsumption because this area has been overrun with californians, Etc the last 10 plus years. wait until we have a real drought, where we don’t get a drop of rain in the area for one, two, years. the whole thing’s likely going to come crashing down. we barely had enough water 15 years ago to take care of the existing populace. Now, forget it if it stops raining. the pedernales, as it approaches Lake Travis for example used to flow. but the last near decade or so it’s just been a big ditch. that’s not from “drought” that’s from way too much consumption.
Everyone thinks they know better than my Boss.
They should know by now that He is not mocked.
I mostly agree, but the 2011 drought was pretty bad too, and they’ve built 100k+ more houses since then.
I also notice they’re building the houses first, then expanding the roads 5 or more years later… Driving me nuts.
But the Austin tech scene is currently failing. A lot of the startup types are moving out, and the big established players are offshoring like crazy.
KR
@Gabriel,
And you know original sin doesn’t just corrupt the individuals. This whole world is corrupted by it and suffers. His will be done.
KR
Don’t fuck with Mother Nature or people will die.
@Brad
So we’re supposed to not build reservoirs and let the water just run to the sea like Commifornia? Didn’t we just have this discussion? 😀
FWIW – I believe there’s only 4 natural lakes in the entire state of Texas.
KR
Building a reservoir is a far cry from seeding clouds. Yes or no? Can’t even believe you typed that. You moved to a dessert. And yes SoCal was/is a dessert until European’s irrigated it. Now apparently Mexico wants it back. I’m sorry, I consider your comment illogical. Dig all the holes you want. Don’t seed clouds. Who gives these people the right to alter Mother Nature?
@Brad,
I’m just razzing you. I live east of Austin. It’s not a desert here. I’m up to my neck in pine trees, it makes up for the lack of actual mountains. I do miss mountains.
But that’s why I asked who was paying for it. Is it the state, a regional government, or just some rancher that’s trying to get another cutting of hay in? Silver iodide seeding has been done for decades, if not longer. I have no idea what the regulations on it are. But I’m guessing there’s probably some established case history & precedent if liability is found.
KR
“…who was paying for it. Is it the state, a regional government, or just some rancher…”
It was paid for by a more serious secret weather control outfit which needed a scapegoat, distraction and plausible deniability for a much bigger, riskier Texas weather control project.
::removes tinfoil hat::
That darn government still trying to kill you psychos
@Anon,
That rancher trying to get another cutting in, I’m sure they’re trying to kill me!
😀

“Y0u know that cloud seeding we did to make it rain? Well, it had nothing to do with the fact that it rained. Honest.”
