Report: Kamala Harris Laying Dozens of Campaign Staffers

Edit: Oops. Laying OFF. Laying off dozens of campaign workers.

Breitbart:

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has been forced to lay off dozens of campaign staffers at her Baltimore headquarters as her flailing bid for the White House continues to suffer from poor polling figures and money woes, according to a report.

Politico writes Wednesday that in addition to the layoffs in Baltimore, Harris’s campaign is also slashing or re-deploying staff at her offices in key primary states such as Iowa, New Hampshire, and California. Further, the Harris campaign is cutting salaries of top officials, including campaign manager Juan Rodriguez, who was earning $10,000 per month. “Harris’ consultants will also have their payments reduced and the campaign plans to trim and renegotiate other contracts to slash overhead,” Politico reports.

Harris’ sluggish fundraising performance, paired with overspending, has prompted some inside and outside of her campaign to wonder how long she can keep running for the highest office in the land. In the third quarter, Harris blew $14.6 million but only raised $11.8 million — leaving her with a $2.8 million spending gap. Additionally, her campaign deferred around $900,000 in debts, an accounting trick that inflated her cash on hand.

“It’s an unsustainable path,” Ami Copeland, who served as deputy national finance director for Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign, told Politico. read more

  1. Reminds me of an old joke — a little unPC
The owner of a small business comes in one morning agonizing over a decision he has to make. Sales are off and he has to let one of his employees go. He sees Susie leaning against the counter in the break room, head in hands waiting for the coffee to brew. He goes up to her and says “I have a difficult decision to make. Maybe you can help me decide. I’m going to have to either lay you or Jack off”. Susie lifts up her head and says “well can you Jack off — I’ve got a terrible hangover”

  2. I am always at a loss when trying to empathize with the left. I understand the Obama appeal and TBH was not at all surprised when he won. But this current crop of crap weasels, very perplexing. The kids love Bernie (free stuff) and Warren (rich people getting their stuff taken from them) but Kamela offers nothing appealing, she has no pedigree, no accomplishments, has demonstrated not even a rudimentary understanding of how government works, she is a black hole (and I mean that in the astronomical sense).

  3. But I thought Democrat campaigns were run by volunteers!

    *horn sound*
    *gong*
    *crash*

Another fly is on its final annoying buzz before landing on the compost heap of Democrat history.

  4. @Bobcat:

Dammit Uncle Al, I can’t get the lined out thing to work!!!

Hey, Bobcat – The code is in the form of HTML tags, and formatting tags come in pairs: one to start the format and one to end it. Both are enclosed in angle brackets, also known as less-than and greater-than symbols. The ending one has a slash / to indicate it’s the stopper.

Strike-out formatting is designated with the single letter s (lower case). There are other longer tags that do the same thing, but just that one letter will suffice.

The starting tag looks like this: <s>
The ending tag looks like this: </s>

Any text you put between those two tags appears with the strike-out line through it.

So, if you type in this:

So much for her boots <s>on the ground</s> under the bed Strategy…

…your comment will look like this:

So much for her boots on the ground under the bed Strategy…

Other formatting: lowercase b for bold, lowercase i for italic, the word “blockquote” for those quoted text blocks I used above. Ah, note that you shouldn’t put any blanks or other characters inside the HTML tags.

  5. Americans love their beloved government overlords. The only time Americans get angry when the Gestapo shoots an unarmed American in the back is when the officer is black.

Americans don’t care if they must give their fingerprints to travel if Muslims do, too.

One reason Americans hate freedom now is that the media runs horrifying stories about a dangerous problem and downplays concerns about tyranny.

Another reason Americans hate liberty and personal responsibility now is because Americans think that they are all helpless victims and freedom only benefits others and tyranny only applies to other people.

If you don’t wear shorts, you won’t care if shorts are illegal.

If you’re white, you might think that you’re immune from the police state.

If guns are banned, Americans think that they will be safe, but Americans don’t realize that gun bans apply to everyone.

Americans scream everything must be banned because someone might be hurt.

Every problem has a knee-jerk reaction, but no one thinks about the unintended consequences.

If wages are low, Americans scream that the minimum wage must be raised. No one cares about prices rising or businesses closing.

If US exports are expensive, Americans say a trade war should be started. No one cares about prices increasing or exports falling.

If smokers die, Americans insist smoking must be illegal. No one cares about freedom or tobacco workers.

If regulations kill the economy, Americans say that there must be welfare.

If welfare raises the debt, Americans say taxes must be increased.

The problem with decrees is that eventually you end up living in a prison.

Now that straws are illegal, do you honestly believe tyranny has stopped? Do you feel safer? Do you think toothpicks or mouthwash will never be banned?

Americans don’t realize problems don’t require force. Americans do not understand that the free market can provide solutions.

Why not allow workers to decide what wages they will accept?

Why not boycott imports if you hate free trade?

Why not allow nonprofits to educate people about the dangers of cigarettes?

Can’t charities provide welfare for the poor?

Was there a minimum wage, trade war, smoking laws, and food stamps in 1910? Did Americans just starve to death in 1910?

Is using force and putting people in jail the only possible solution to any problem?

    What country is this?

  6. No communist can make money. The communist can only take money. Kampala was an entrepreneur when she was working Willie Brown, but she thought that would transfer, less ability. She was wrong.
