NYP: Scientists are reporting a breakthrough discovery: A $3-per-pill epilepsy drug may be used to “switch off” autism symptoms in mice, according to a new peer-reviewed study published Tuesday in Molecular Psychiatry journal.
Autism spectrum disorder is a complex developmental condition that impacts how an estimated 5.4 million (2.2% of) adults — and one in 44 children — in the United States perceives and socializes with others. It is often accompanied by abnormalities such as epilepsy or hyperactivity, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
A team of experts at Germany’s Hector Institute for Translational Brain Research found that the medication lamotrigine — an anti-seizure drug first approved for use in the US in 1994 — was able to curb behavioral and social problems linked to the disorder. Now, their findings are being hyped as the closest thing yet to a potential cure for humans. MORE HERE
That’s too cheap, we can’t make money with that!
Throw it into the bin with the Ivermectin!
Those researchers really ought to see if NOT giving the mice vaccines reduces the incidence of autism.
Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
First cull the career politicians and the unrepentant lawyers.
They also found that cyanide cures Leftism.
As does very hot lead
it will take ten years for the trials to take place before its made available. by then the price will be 50 per pill
Good news if true.
So, just how do you determine (diagnose) autism in mice/rats? How would you know it’s reduced?
Science wants to know.
“Scientists ‘switch off’ autism symptoms using epilepsy drug” — in MICE. My understanding is that the experiment has not been done on humans yet. And you can bet that when they do, that same drug that only costs $3 a dose now will cost $300 per dose afterwards.
Masking symptoms isn’t curing the brain damage — many cases caused by crap in the vaccines that little kids are forced to get.
