RINO Republicans Are Backing A Carbon Tax

GP: Last Thursday, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works reported legislation (the Prove It Act) that sets the stage and lays the foundation to impose a carbon dioxide tax on American families, workers, and consumers.

This new energy tax was voted out of committee 14-5, with four Republicans — Senator Kevin Cramer (from North Dakota, an energy producing state), Senator John Boozman (Arkansas), Senator Graham (South Carolina), and, most inexplicably, Senator Cynthia Lummis (from Wyoming, another state that produces energy) — joining ten Democrats to create this new tax.

Five Republicans, led by Senator Capito from West Virginia, voted against the new energy tax. more

  1. Well isn’t that special…
Gee Wally, will that include every living, breathing American (excepting politicians, poltroons and Illegals)??

Sure Beave… eventually! (you didn’t think that it’ll end with just energy, didja???)

  2. The Carbon Tax was first proposed in the early months of the Clinton administration as a vehicle that would allow the taxing of any human activity. It was shot down right away. But now we see the “conservatives” have “evolved” in their thinking to the point that what was considered too radical for the Left in 1992 is now acceptable to the Republicans.

The Clintonistas went on to impose the largest tax hike in history after which one of the Roberts, (Reich or Ruben) proclaimed that with this tax hike, they had reversed 12 years of Reagan-Bush and re-asserted Federal supremacy over personal income.

That’s what our government thinks of our money.

  3. Soooo…..a “carbon tax/tariff” on imported goods.
    Reducing CO2 kills plants.
    Killing plants reduces O2.
Reducing O2 kills animals and people.
Let’s start with the UniParty members that think this “carbon tax/tariff” is a good idea.
Get them (basically all of Mordor-on-the-Potomac) to hold their breath to reduce their personal CO2 levels……(even if We, the People, have to give them a rope necktie assist…)

  4. even steven, that’s because CO2 doesn’t emit heat. Nor does it “trap” heat like a greenhouse. Anyone with a grade 5 level of education can tell you that. It takes another 7 (or more) years of re-education to learn that what is objectively true and observable under universal laws of physics and biology is not only false but subject to social justice and political narrative.

  5. Brad, you might wanna check your social justice indoctrination filter for the google machine and change it to “I can handle the truth”. First result for me on top of all results for “photosynthesis” yields:

    pho·to·syn·the·sis
    /ˌfōdəˈsinTHəsəs/
    noun
the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a byproduct.
    “during photosynthesis plants absorb CO₂”

  6. brad,
it’s the first link on the google machine that pulled it from Dictionary.com, and the following several links also mention CO2.

    The next entry from Britanica:
Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

The next entry from National Geographic:
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar.

    The next entry from Smithsonian:
By taking in water (H2O) through the roots, carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air, and light energy from the Sun, plants can perform photosynthesis to make glucose (sugars) and oxygen (O2)

The next entry from Kahn Academy:
Photosynthesis is the process in which light energy is converted to chemical energy in the form of sugars. In a process driven by light energy, glucose molecules (or other sugars) are constructed from water and carbon dioxide, and oxygen is released as a byproduct.

In fact, I can’t find an entry that omits CO2 from their description of photosynthesis, or at least I need to keep scrolling.

  7. What’s with Graham’s face? He looks like Jerry Mahoney or Knucklehead Smith, mouth ready to drop open. Those heavy lines on each side of his mouth…what the heck causes that?
