Rock of Rages

American Thinker:

[…] Residents of a neighborhood near Mission Dolores, the area that borders the Castro on one side and the Mission district on the other, took matters into their own hands.  They purchased and installed big boulders on the sidewalks to discourage tent encampments following the 300 complaints they made to the city about poop and tents and drug-dealing, all of which got ignored.  Call it boulder warfare.  Call it the castle defense.  They sure as heck weren’t going to get any attention otherwise. read more

  1. …if you’re living next to the Castro district, you’ve ALREADY been REPEATEDLY exposed to aesthetic and biological hazards worse than homeless camps for years and years and years, maybe if you stopped that crap THEN, you wouldn’t be enjoying this escalation NOW…

  2. …rocks won’t save you, not NOW…and not LATER, either…

    “15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

    16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

    17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
    Revelation 6:15-17

  3. Boulders being removed?
    Time to escalate.
    Paintball guns (ouch!). Pressure sprayers filled with ammonia (can’t smell any worse) (and then quickly disappear) (best to do at dusk/evening?). Hose down the storefront sidewalks – and the homeless campers at the same time.

  4. You want to know how I know, without any doubt whatsoever, that the boulders are effective? The Homeless Industrial Complex is screaming like a stuck pig about them – Jo Ann Hardesty: ‘I am outraged’ at use of boulders to deter Portland homeless camps

  5. sooo… San Fran’s Mohammedan-run Dept of Public Jerks took your rocks away?

    Go to a welder and have thousands of caltrops mass-produced. Strew them around a bit on the sidewalks and the bums will clear out pronto.

  6. They should have paid the extra dollars to hire a cargo plane to drop the boulders on city hall. A more lasting effect.

    Don’t forget, you voted for this. Before the next election take the rocks out of your head.

    In ancient times Goliath demonstrated that life isn’t good with a rock in your head. 1 Samuel 17, I think. Heed the moral of the story.

  7. @ M. lovell,
    Yeah, but those sharp tiddly winks make it hard to stroll around town too!
