Rodeo bull escapes, injures six people in California

Six people were injured Friday night at a Northern California rodeo when a bull leaped over the fence and escaped the arena.

The incident happened during the final portion of the bull riding event, the Redding Rodeo said in a press release.

After the rider fell off, a video shows that cowboys attempted to lasso the bull but were unable to do so before it jumped the arena fence.

The bull hit six people, sending one to the hospital, police said, according to KRCR. The remaining injured spectators were treated immediately on the scene and sent home with minor injuries.

If you ever are in a hiring position and you’re looking for a hard worker that won’t complain about a little discomfort, and you have a rodeo Cowboy among the applicants I recommend hiring the rodeo Cowboy. I had a couple bull riders on my crew many years ago and those guys were just plain tough as hell.

    I attended that rodeo a long time ago. And at the time I remember thinking the fencing seemed about 1 1/2 feet shorted than any other rodeo arena I’d ever seen. Which granted aren’t many. But even in the video it seemed short.

I live in central NM. many old rodeo cowboys around. they all walk like the big bug in the Earl suit in MIB. twisting, jerking, stiff joints, take 5 minutes to go from the truck to the post office. all those things you thought you got away with in your twenties start coming back in your forties.
