Ron DeSantis Floats ‘Workers’ Bill of Rights’ to Combat Forced Masking

Breitbart: Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Tuesday suggested that a Workers’ Bill of Rights may be necessary to alleviate workers from mask mandates continually imposed upon them by their employers.

Speaking on Florida’s record-breaking domestic tourism numbers during a press conference in Fort Walton Beach, DeSantis talked about the restaurant industry in the state and the uphill battle the industry has faced throughout the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

Many restaurants in other states went out of business due to extended lockdowns and restrictions, the governor said, noting that you “have to have a shot record to even be able to sit down in some of these places.”

“It’s totally bizarre. Here in Florida, they’ve been able to do very well, and I think actually a lot of restaurants have never done better than they’ve done over the last year or so,” he said. more

  1. Is anyone arguing that masks and/or vaxes are part of the common law notion of “No shoes, no shirt, no service.”… which seems connected to “We have the right to refuse service to anyone.”? I.E., common decency?

Legally, this is a very gray area, I think. And it’s likely to be tied up in various courts for years.

    I’m sick of it.

And here’s another one: The right to keep and bear arms and of self-defense is protected by our Federal Constitution, most State Constitutions and by common law. By what right then, can a commercial establishment deny your right to something that is Federally and (often) State -protected, namely the right to be armed? After all, the establishment is ‘public’ and not ‘private.’ (Even though privately owned.)

“Leave your guns at the city gate” doctrines used by cities since the 1800’s have finally being shot down gradually by all courts.

I’ll wait to be lectured on this by the experts here.

  2. Ron DeSantis Floats ‘Workers’ Bill of Rights’

NOOOOOO! Don’t go there. This is the same verbiage that FDR (may he burn in hell forever!) tried to implement with his socialist/communist “Second Bill Of Rights” or, “Workers’ Bill of Rights”. Fortunately it was shot down.

I don’t care how well intentioned DeSantis is, with his Workers’ Bill of Rights in place, someone will come along later to twist and distort it, and finish what FDR wasn’t able to.

(No offense meant, “FDR In Hell”)

  3. How about forced vaccinations?
Keep these businesses from being fascist and agree to do the govts bidding for them. So by proxy the people are getting their body autonomy taken away, not by the govt directly but by corporations acting as a proxy for the govt. This is fascism.

  4. There’s also a legal thing known as “nullify” which Americans can legally use against the malignant race-supremacist Joe Biden, his disinformation, abuses of human rights, and his profiteering anti-medical freedom acts against the citizenry.
