The State Department ended a USAID initiative that has given hundreds of millions of dollars to the restoration of Ukraine’s power grid.
Ukraine has been struggling with power outages because of Russia’s attacks on its power grid over the last few years.
USAID will also drastically reduce its presence in Ukraine, according to NBC News. more

It’s a mighty perverse way to do “international development” when you don’t know whether what you’re developing will end up as part of Russia or as part of Ukraine.

The Ukraine has been nothing more than a giant Maytag for washing currency and a venue for highly questionable programs for decades. It’s been quite useful to our deep state, the intelligence community and our corrupt politicians. What other purpose does it serve the US? Why is there no accountability for the billions sent to them? Where in hell did all that money and equipment go (a rhetorical question as we have a good idea)? Zelensky overestimates his importance and underestimates Trump’s distaste for government corruption, unlike the last administration.

No argument, but I’ll add another facet to the war.
When the war started, the media had been taking a beating in credibility with freelancers proving them liars at every turn.
The war eliminated the local truth tellers. Once again, the lefty main stream media was the sole propagandizer. No podcasters on the ground in the Ukraine exposing the truth. Easier to fake their genuineness and keep pushing lies.
My question to people who think they’ve been telling the truth about Ukraine War:
Years of lies being exposed and all of a sudden, at a specific date, they aren’t lying any more?

Al, I watched an on the street interview on the streets of some major city in the Uke. People we not happy. They’re tired of the war. They interviewed quite a few peeps and there wasn’t one person that had a good thing to say about shorty.
Mean while my youngest son purchased a home in a new development. All young families. The place is packed with people right from Ukraine. One family got here two weeks ago. How do you even close escrow that fast. They have a lot of neighborhood cookouts and English is not the first language. They must be families of the elites. I dunno.
@Brad — Just a thought, but if you’re from an “elite” family, you have a lawyer to all that diddly stuff for you. Send of a retainer and a power of atty from the Uke and he’ll have you all set up when to get to the U.S.
All it takes is money, and the Lord knows there’s lots of money floating around among Ukraine’s elites.

I was in the local DMV on a week day getting my DL renewed. The place was full of them. Chalked full. At first I thought they were Russians. But as I got closer to the front of the line they all mentioned Ukraine to the DMV peeps. Folsom California seems to be a desire spot for them.
