(AFP) — Russia on Saturday said it had arrested 11 people — including four gunmen — over the attack on a Moscow concert hall claimed by the Islamic State, as the death toll rose to 115.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was yet to comment publicly on the attack and Moscow has not addressed the Islamic State’s claim of responsibility, even as some lawmakers pointed to a possible Ukraine connection.
Camouflaged gunmen opened fire at the packed Crocus City Hall in Moscow’s northern suburb of Krasnogorsk on Friday evening ahead of a concert by Soviet-era rock band Piknik in the deadliest attack in Russia for at least a decade.
Russia’s FSB security service said some of the perpetrators had fled towards the Russia-Ukraine border, adding that the assailants had “appropriate contacts” in the country.
It did not provide further details.
Some Russian lawmakers also pointed to Kyiv, without providing evidence.
“The main interested party could most likely be Ukraine and its patrons … we can’t rule it out,” said senior Russian MP Andrey Kartapolov. more
But I thought mass shootings only happened in America and were carried out by right wing white MAGA supporters.

“On 7 March, the US embassy in Russia had issued a security alert saying it was “monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts.””
That was a major concert event. Why was there no serious security present to prevent, or at least hamper, these thugs? Video shows them carelessly walking around with long arms for minutes with no resistance at all.

Somewhere I read today, the MSM said our warning to Russia about the impending attack (if the warning is even true) shows the difference between what the MSM calls a “democracy” and a dictatorial state, i.e., we warn Russia but they don’t do the same for us for an impending terrorist attack.
I believe we have gotten advanced notice from Russia for such attacks, maybe even for 9-11. I can agree that Russia is a dictatorial government of some stripe. Ours is, or will be, unless Trump is elected. So BFD.
As for us, we didn’t take the warnings seriously prior to 9-11, whatever the source. Everyone knows that in the summer of 2001 the CIA or FBI got warnings that something big was coming.
