Daily Wire: Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly may step down next year amid rumors that he is battling serious health issues.
“Kremlin watchers said recent tell-tale footage showed the 68-year-old strongman has possible symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease,” The Sun reported. “Observers who studied recent footage of Putin noted his legs appeared to be in constant motion and he looked to be in pain while clutching the armrest of a chair.”
Moscow political scientist Professor Valery Solovei told The Sun: “There is a family, it has a great influence on him. He intends to make public his handover plans in January.” more

I’ve listened to him a bunch of times when he was speaking in a conference setting. He is brutally, dare I say it, honest. Is he a hard nosed prick? Yes. An elite? Maybe. Did he over react in Chechnya and murder 1,000s? Yes, but it sure stopped terrorist attacks from there didn’t it? There’s no doubt he loves Russia.
Vlad is not a good man. He is, however, almost always honest about himself and his aims, and is a “known quantity”. He’s had the right attitude about China and the CCP, and in his own way is reliable in many regards. I don’t think his replacement is likely to be as relatively “good” as he has been.
Plus there’s something of the likable rogue about him that I grudgingly appreciate. I’m sorry to hear he’s got health problems.
They’re working on ‘immunity’ for former Russian presidents in the Duma. He could be leaving. But then, who would want to challenge him?
