Russia to Sell S-400 Anti-Aircraft Missile System to China

Shenandoah reports: While the US ineptitude continues at the State Department and pettiness and personal surrender monkey preferences at the Pentagon over the objections of military leaders, the Russians and Chinese continue to make moves to set up a distinct strategic sphere which excludes conventional US military power from interfering in Eurasia.

  1. Why didn’t they just steal the build plans like they do with everything else? they already have a copy of the F-33, F-35, (thanks to a Lockheed sub-contractor) the Ford F-150, Ford Rapter, and several BMW knock offs.. copy-right infringement means nothing to the Chinese.

  2. @Ricky- they can steal plans but they can’t steal technical competence. Also the plans don’t always reflect additional modifications & performance improvements.

If Wikipedia is to be believed, this system is capable of of some serious performance-

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-400_%28missile%29

Max target speed 4.8km/s (that’s just under Mach 14). That would require a ceramic/composite nose cone which didn’t interfere with the operation of the active seeker, that type of technology can’t be easily copied. As far as the electronics in such a missile, It’s like designing a 50″ plasma TV that can withstand a sledgehammer beating.
