  1. Ryne Sandberg was a Spokane native born and raised here. He went to North Central HS and the HS baseball field was named after him when he played for the Chicago Cubs. North Central HS is located a little over a mile from where I live in NW Spokane. Spokane has produced 3 all stars in different professional sports, Ryne Sandberg in MLB, Mark Rypien Superbowl champion who played for the Washington Redskins in the NFL and John Stockton the NBA’s all-time assist leader in professional basketball. As well as Gonzaga University under Mark Few’s coaching leadership that is one of the best collegiate basketball teams in the country. Not bad for being way out in the PNW and a great place to live.
