San Francisco to Ban Homeless People From Living in RVs

Newsmax

San Francisco is set to ban homeless people from living in RVs by adopting strict new parking limits the mayor says are necessary to keep sidewalks clear and prevent trash buildup.

The policy, up for final approval by San Francisco supervisors Tuesday, targets at least 400 recreational vehicles in the city of 800,000 people. The RVs serve as shelter for people who can’t afford housing, including immigrant families with kids.

Those who live in them say they’re a necessary option in an expensive city where affordable apartments are impossible to find. But Mayor Daniel Lurie and other supporters of the policy say motor homes are not suitable for long-term living and the city has a duty to both provide shelter to those in need and clean up the streets.

  1. Inquiring minds want to know:
How come LA doesn’t ban the homeless from squatting on other people’s burned out ocean-view lots!
How is it possible that burned-out lots with no power or plumbing are somehow suitable for long-term living?!?!

  2. Different Tim,
Most of them work in the town.
They can’t be expected pay the gas tax too
Cleaning houses and rich folks toilets does not pay enough to cover both.

Think about the toll roads, too

However, Different Tim is inviting them to his place.
    Where you at?

  3. Fuk that! Move ’em to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch out in the Pacific ocean! It’s estimated to cover about 1.6 million square kilometers (620,000 square miles), which is three times the size of France.

  5. We HAVE to ban them from living in RVs. How else can we demand that more housing be built??? My developer friends can’t make money off of people living in RVs!!!

  6. Lots of people can’t afford rent because the cost of gas, food and taxes has MADE them homeless. Thank the lord you haven’t lost everything. My friend makes 800 a month, gets $90 food stamps but if she earns more she loses her insurance she needs for cancer treatments. YOU try living on that you heartless worms.

  8. Demorats are evil. They jack things up so living on the street is possible for a larger cohort while reducing work opportunity through excessive taxation and regulation. They expand the number of homeless in the full range including those living in RVs running or not.

Then the evil bastards make it illegal to live in that shelter. On to the street with you I guess. Of course government hostelry exists in limited form and apparently very poor quality. Evil people, should never be allowed near the levers of power.

  9. How exactly is living on the sidewalk, in a vacant lot, or under a bridge or overpass superior to living in an RV? As long as the vehicle has the proper tags and isn’t sitting on cinder blocks, who gives a flying fuck?
