SCOTUS Rules Against Trump On Reach Of Travel Ban

Daily Caller:

The Supreme Court denied a Department of Justice request to clarify its June 26 travel ban ruling Tuesday, effectively upholding a lower court order which curtailed Trump administration guidance on the scope of exemptions from the ban.

The high court allowed President Donald Trump’s travel ban to take effect in June, but required that the government continue to admit individuals from the six countries named in the order who have a significant connection to the United States.

10 Comments on SCOTUS Rules Against Trump On Reach Of Travel Ban

  1. The Constitution clearly grants the President unlimited sole discretion over immigration policy. Period.
These lower courts have no jurisdiction, and Sessions DoJ should be asserting that forcefully.

  2. Kennedy, Ginsberg. Take your pick. Either one or both. Things won’t change on the Supreme Court until President Trump replaces these two. Watching Obamacare implode, I really wish Roberts would step down for any reason. Medical, mental. Take your pick. He’s more responsible for this entire mess than any other individual. Call it the Robertscare Act.

  3. The Supreme Court does not make law. Therefore, it is up to Trump to follow through on his constitutional right to stop immigration.
If Trump had the guts he would arrest and jail every member of every court who is ruling against the constitution. At the same time he should arrest and jail each and every member of congress and the senate for refusing to represent the people who voted for them.
All of the above should be charged with treason.
This is exactly how Venezuela got where they are today, No Justice Department, no Congress or Senate and Courts that refuse to follow the constitution.
Without laws and justice we cannot survive. We are on a death spiral unless something drastic happens now.

  4. Both Ginzberg and Kennedy have got to retire. In this vote it seems only three of the justices sided with the President on an issue that is clearly within his full jurisdiction. Judges up and down the line have been making law and it has to stop.
