WFB: Seattle’s LGBTQ Commission demanded Wednesday that the city’s first openly lesbian mayor resign.
In a letter, the commission claimed Mayor Jenny Durkan’s (D.) resignation is “necessary” to address the “human rights violations that have occurred in our city during her tenure.”
The group, which is supposed to advise the mayor and other city officials on policies affecting the gay community, argued that Durkan failed to engage with it in discussions regarding police funding and homelessness.
Specifically, the commission said Durkan had rejected “meaningful reductions” to the Seattle Police Department and ignored activists’ calls to cut police funding by half.

I drove though Seattle today. Once southbound and then a return. Each time I was astonished at the amount of money poured into all of its new office buildings, most of which will be difficult to fill. If you’re not aware of Seattle’s 10-year building boom, you wouldn’t recognize the city now hardly at all.
Paul Allen and all of the billion dollar investors really thought Seattle was the future. You drive through downtown on I-5 amidst the splendor of those buildings and imagine the imbeciles like Durkan in their fancy offices thinking they actually run the city.

I’ve been wondering for years now. According to government (the Holy of Holies for libtwits) sources, the “LGBGTWXYZ community comprise ~ 4.3% of the US population. Does it REALLY make sense to spend all that federal $ for a sub=population of that size?

Whoever or whatever they are, if they are not doing the job they were hired or elected to do, they must be fired/replaced by someone competent.

Why does Seattle have an LGBTQ commission and how powerful is it?
It is a mistake to sit back and laugh at Portland and Seattle. Those two cities are the proving grounds for blm and antifa tactics which are then copied around the nation. We would be in a lot better shape now if we had never allowed them to continue.
