Senate GOP needs new leadership: ‘Not Mitch McConnell’

FOX: Incumbent Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Missouri Senate hopeful Eric Schmitt each said Monday that if Republicans take control of the U.S. Senate, they won’t support Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., for another term as leader.

At a rally for Schmitt in Springfield, Missouri, Hawley told a gaggle of reporters that he prefers a fresh face for leader, citing disagreements with McConnell on funding Ukraine’s defense against Russia and spending legislation.

“I don’t imagine I will, no,” Hawley reportedly said when asked if he would support McConnell.  more

  1. I’ve been listening to the Ted Cruz podcast with Ben Ferguson. Ted is always pretty informative in any case. But most recently he has been on a 17 state tour to hold pretty big rallies helping both senatorial and house candidates. One thing he is doing, without saying it, with this is developing relationships and support for his own run at the Senate leadership. I think I would like Cruz in the leader’s position.

  2. Where this will end up is that someone challenging Mitch will split the Republican vote, and you will have Democrats supporting McConnell to put him over. Mitch will then owe the Democrats more than the challenging Republicans.

Were you around in 2016? Cruz is a brain dead Globalist that sooner or later will shoot himself some where important. He’s no different than Mitch The Bitch. And he LOVES the sound of his own voice. NO. We need an American First Speaker for the good of the country.

  4. McConnell won’t die and he’ll still be Leader.
McConnell has his hands on the $Billions that everyone wants and he knows how to use it. He’s armpit deep in China and launders $Billions through Ukraine. And I’m fairly certain he can perform election fraud as well as any Demonrat (probably using Demonrat operatives).

I don’t know if the young bucks have the clout to retire the corrupt old fossilized turtle. The Senate’s pretty much rotten with corruption and treason.
Most would rather go along (and stuff their bank accounts) than expose and fight corruption and treason.

  6. Shades of the Boehner experience. My rep voted to keep Boehner in – that was the last time I voted for the Rep and told him so as to why. He said “it’s not that easy.” Okay, so all you want is the easy stuff cuz you can’t handle the hard stuff. My rep got re-elected, so I expect the same results, he’ll vote to keep McConnell in.

  7. These republicans will vote McConnell in again.
They no longer care about the citizen because the have made themselves wealthy at the expense of the citizen because of politicians like McConnell.
