Senators voted 83-14 to end debate on the bill.
Lawmakers will vote on final passage Tuesday afternoon, but will first consider three amendments, backed by Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., that aim to preserve the effectiveness of the intelligence gathering program. more
No one is looking out for America.
The barbarians are through the gate and into the larder.
And those who are supposed to be looking out for us are colluding with the barbarians.
Apparently the Senate proposed amendments will rein in the overwhelming unconstitutional provisions of the USA Freedom Act.
Note: Any bill called Patriot, Freedom, Affordable is going to be the opposite of it’s name.
Guess we’ll just have to adapt to the other, minor unConstitutional provisions …
Mitch McConnell has already shown his unworthiness as a protector of Constitutional rights.
I love my country but fear its government.
I’ve always wondered when the Patriot Act was enacted why was there no provision for mandatory review every couple of years or so to determine what worked, what didn’t and what should be removed/changed because it trampled on the Constitution and privacy so hard that whatever good came of it was tainted.
