Senate Unanimously Passes No Tax on Tips Act

GP:
The Senate passed the No Tax on Tips Act with a unanimous consent vote Tuesday, sending the standalone bill to the House of Representatives.

The bill allows taxpayers to claim a 100% deduction on tipped wages.

The House is currently weighing the proposal in the larger Trump-backed “Big Beautiful” budget reconciliation bill, for which some Republicans in both chambers have shown opposition.

On Tuesday, President Trump delivered remarks to House Republicans on Capitol Hill, where he reportedly asked lawmakers to stop haggling over the bill and move it forward to his desk. more

  1. @Different Tim — They could start by publishing an official definition of ‘income’ because the last time I looked there wasn’t one. We all act as though there is, which IMO is foolish.

  2. Andrew,

The House changed President Trump’s promise of no tax on SS to a deduction on SS.

That’s not the only thing they changed in the BBB (Big Beautiful Bill). The last thing I read was that the bastardized bill will now allow for illegal aliens to get some of the benefits the Ds gave them (I don’t remember what, but I think it was Medicaid).

Speaker Johnson is worthless if that is true.

  3. Great news on the Senate passing the No Tax on Tips Act! It’s encouraging to see bipartisan support for this. Hopefully, the House will follow suit, even amidst budget debates. This could really help folks keep more of what they earn. Speaking of earning, anyone else feeling like they’re grinding for coins in Snow Rider lately? Gotta keep on riding!
