Senate votes 52-46 to overturn Biden’s student debt relief program

Just The News- The Senate voted 52-46 on Thursday to block President Joe Biden’s student loan relief program.

The legislation would repeal Biden’s debt relief program and resume federal student loan debt payments, which the administration had on pause. Moderate senators, including Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana as well as independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, voted with Republicans to pass the bill.

“With prices on the rise and our debt crisis getting worse by the day, the last thing we need is yet another debt-financed spending spree, this one to pay off someone else’s student loans,” Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) tweeted after the resolution passed. MORE

  1. I thought this was already in the mutt ba’tard pretend debt ceiling? Anyway, the Supremes are about to overturn it, plus it’s supposed to end in November already.

    geez!

  2. As someone who attended classes and paid for 5 degrees in my life without a single cent of student loan debt I have no sympathy for anyone.

I grew up in foster care, when I hit 17 I asked for and received my release. I took a GED exam, joined the Navy. I owned 2 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, several pairs of underwear, shoes and socks. No money in my pocket.

Thank you America for that opportunity.

Guess what? In my America if you couldn’t afford it you didn’t get it. 6 years of Navy service helped me get my VA benefits that helped with the first degree.

I WORKED my way through the rest learning how ramen noodles, ketchup bread, rice, and potatoes tasted like while driving cheap Honda cvcc cars (which ironically got 50mpg) and having radio and tv be my wife and I only entertainment except for church and volunteer work. I frequently worked 7 days per week.

And you tell me I have to care?

  3. They don’t have a veto-proof majority. Joe will veto this and his lawless student loan forgiveness rule will become the law that congress did not issue.
