CTH: Earlier today Senator Mike “H1B” Lee called the national security briefing “lame” and “inadequate”, saying the military and intelligence leaders ran from hard questions at the briefing. Well, Senator James Lankford calls those accusations by Senator Lee demonstrably false and untrue.
Senator Lankford noted the briefing included examples of 90 incidents of Iranian proxy attacks against the U.S. and coalition forces in the last month-and-a-half; ultimately leading to the killing of an American. It was after the final attack when POTUS Trump ordered the elimination of Qassim Soleimani. WATCH
Lee told Breitbart News, “I want to be very clear, my comments yesterday did not take a position on the appropriateness of the attack that occurred. They were not condemning that; in fact, I acknowledged upfront that I’m willing to concede that they might well have been legally, morally, justifiable and fully constitutional.”
“I mentioned yesterday that it was probably the worst briefing I have ever seen on a military issue. The reason I qualify it that way is that the worst briefing I ever got in that room was on a slightly different issue back in 2012 right after the Benghazi attack, where we were told repeatedly by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the attack on the Benghazi consulate was based on a reaction to a video, so, fortunately, this was not that.”

The guy was a terrorist. Also legally ID’d as a terrorist by the U.S. government. AND he was in a declared battle zone — Iraq. AND he had just masterminded the killing of an American, wounding of several American soldiers, and — in a REAL act of war — the attack on U.S. sovereign soil, our embassy. Taking him out was absolutely positively legal. Just for that. No ifs, ands or buts. No different than (yay yay) taking out bin Laden, or al Baghdadi or any other freaking terrorist operating against us in a war zone.
