Says He Threatened To Release Sex Videos.
DC:
Lindsey Langston, the 2024 winner of the Miss United States beauty pageant, filed a restraining order against Republican Florida Rep. Cory Mills after she accused him of threatening to release nude videos of her.
Langston, who serves as a Republican state committee member in Columbia County, told authorities with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department on July 14 that Mills threatened to harm any of her future romantic partners and share videos of them having sex, according to The Blaze Media. Mills has not faced any charges, while his office told the Daily Caller News Foundation that his office has not been made aware of any police report. more

Close enough….Fair Trial and I’ll Hang Him in the Morning..
Man, what happened to this guy? He was one of the good ones.
If I was banging this woman I would want to advertise it as well.
I don’t know what to make of Mills. He appears to be a bad-ass with a stellar resume but he keeps getting into scrapes, stupid shit that a smarter man would avoid. But I admire him for his alacrity and enjoyment out of bringing the pain to the libs, and they deserve every bit of it.
The resume looks good to me too, @Brad. I don’t know the man but someone whom I respect despises him and without coming right out and saying it thinks he’s dishonest.
What happened to this guy? It’s usually one of two things: (a) he can’t stay away from women; and/or (b) he doesn’t believe the rules apply to him.
Yes, he goes after liberals and the corrupt/stupid crap they do. But just because liberal politicians engage in corrupt and stupid crap doesn’t give non-liberal politicians a license to do the same thing. Having an affair or acting like a playboy? Not what I personally want to see in a politician, but politicians are (at least theoretically) humans. Threatening an ex-paramour with sexually explicit photos or videos? That’s criminal conduct and over the line.
I’ll reserve judgment on Mills until the investigation or restraining order proceeding wraps up; there may be more to this than what is reported by the media (I know, shocker), or the allegations may be unfounded – this is, after all, a restraining order filing and there are usually two sides to every story. But if found to be true, Mills is on his own.
He suffers from the greatest flaw of all, he’s a politician.

I just re read that article. It almost sounds like a hit piece, so yea, I think I’ll reserve judgement.
So her attorney opposed Mills in the 2022 election, and lost. So, yeah, something seems fishy.
Can Fanny Fox be far behind? Ooops! Sorry, wrong Mills …
Not related to the story exactly, but funny when it is a Republican, the party is mentioned in the first sentence.
That is not to say that if the story is true, the guy should get what’s coming to him, but just to observe that the trend continues.
It’s always some lurid story about him, but no actual charges never seem to materialize, and frankly some of the stuff comes off as silly on second look, contrived to taint him with an “appearance of impropriety”, rather than nail him for actionable offenses. The Matt Gaetz smear campaigncomes to mind. Call me when charges are filed or he’s credibly sued.
FYI: Restraining order applications are often one-sided affairs; frequently only the petitioner’s side of the story is presented at the first hearing and often the respondent isn’t even notified of the initial proceeding. I have, unfortunately, had to handle several restraining order defenses; more often than not the allegations are exaggerated, and frequently the claims are just made up. This is not only an abuse of the legal system, but may actually harm petitioners who really need restraining orders.
This is, in my opinion, a result of the increasing use of lawfare to gain some sort of advantage just by filing an action. People assume that just because claims were filed they must be true – and the fact that respondents are successful in defending these claims is not reported. So yes, I will reserve judgment until all of the facts are known.
