Breitbart: The Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde praised President Donald Trump for honoring conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom earlier this month. The singer added that her late father “loved listening to Rush,” and would have “enjoyed” the Trump presidency.
“An open letter to [President Trump], President of the United States,” began Hynde in a series of tweets. “Dear Mr. President. I often think of how much my father, Melville ‘Bud’ Hynde, who proudly served his country as a Marine on Guadalcanal, would have enjoyed your Presidency.”
The grammy-nominated singer went on to praise the president for honoring Limbaugh — despite her having differing political views.
“The other day when you gave that award to Rush Limbaugh, my father would have been so delighted,” said Hynde in a follow-up tweet. “He loved listening to Rush, which is why I allowed my song, ‘My City Was Gone’, to be used on his radio show.”
“My father and I didn’t always see eye-to-eye,” she added. “We argued a lot.”

Wow, a sensible liberal. And I mean that.
She’s still sexy too. That helps.
Quite a turnaround, considering she once demanded Limbaugh stop using her song.
Looks like we have one of the rarest of individuals, a liberal that is not blinded by ideology. Her dad always liked Rush, so to make him happy she didn’t fight Rush using her song for his intro. But she is still a practicing liberal.
I think I remember reading that it was her agent or recording company (or some other legal entity) who demanded Rush stop using the song, and she intervened. At any rate, good on her. Today’s progressive head cases could learn from this, but they won’t.
For a lib, she says a lot of sensible things.
Chrissie is different: she never made it on her looks, and she has talked about that many times. She has commented on her aging without anxiety, versus woman who were beauties when younger and utilized that beauty to navigate through life.
I was introduced to Chrissie once in Akron, completely unexpected event, about 13 years ago. She was not a friendly soul.
Her brother Terry is a helluva nice guy and a stellar musician.
Beyond this one instance shes still a whackjob.
It’s sad…..She would probably be a conservative if she wasn’t working among the liberal/commie Hollywood court jesters.

My Father, who flew in WWII as a fighter pilot, seriously considered running after Clinton was elected, but later died just before the end of eight long years.
Only wished (as Chrissie wishes) he made it until Trump, as the world had radically changed sometime during, and after, the last Baby Boomer was born.
