This list of stats about California’s illegal alien problem has been going around for awhile. I wanted to see what Snopes thought of it. Their tone was condescending and dismissive (obviously, they are leftists) but their refutations were weak.
A summation of Snopes’ evaluation is in italics after each statistic, unless they chose to ignore it, which I take as meaning the stat is 100% true.
1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.
Snopes says nothing.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
Even if the statistic is accurate, however, it is subject to a variety of interpretations. For example, illegal aliens might be disproportionately represented by outstanding homicide warrants in Los Angeles because they are more likely to flee the jurisdiction before their cases are adjudicated…
So, let’s say there are 10,000 murder warrants in L.A.
9,500 of them are for illegals because 500 people are turning themselves in or not jumping bail? Well, then, this stat isn’t telling the entire tale then, is it? It is very possible that the remaining 500 people are illegals too, who haven’t jumped bail and turned themselves in. Snopes’ assertion is asinine. If 200 warrants for murder in L.A. are for illegals, that is 200 too much.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s “Most Wanted” list is viewable on-line, but since each entry generally includes only the ethnicity of a suspect (not his or her immigration status or nationality), and many of the entries refer to persons of unknown identity, it’s difficult to verify the claim that 75% of the people listed therein are illegal aliens.
If 75% of the people on the list LOOK MEXICAN, illegal or not, this might be a good reason to turn off the spigot from Mexico to the United States, no?
4. Over 2/3’s of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
Snopes avoids this stat, which means it’s true.
5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
The L.A. County Sheriff reported in 2000 that 23% of inmates in county jails were deportable, according to the New York Times.
Note, however, that the 23% figure cited includes all deportable aliens, not just Mexican nationals.
Ah, yes. The figure includes those damn Norwegian illegals that are terrorizing California.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
Snopes says nothing.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
Snopes says nothing.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
Snopes says nothing.
9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.
…according to Los Angeles Almanac, if both AM and FM stations are counted, and all programming formats (e.g., music, news, talk, religion, sports) are included, then it’s fair to say that there are about 20 “Spanish speaking” radio stations in Los Angeles.
So it’s true.
10. In L.A.County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak Spanish (10.2 million people in L.A.County).
Snopes says nothing.
11. Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on welfare.
Snopes tries to refute it saying that illegals can’t receive welfare. Then they concede that they can if their children were born here.
12. Over 70% of the United States annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.
As the Sacramento Bee recently reported, the “over 90%” figure for population growth in California is essentially accurate if the term “immigration” is defined to encompass both foreign immigrants and births to immigrant mothers:
That’s what the stat said.
13.The cost of illegal immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a NET (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University].
Snopes says there are other studies which state that illegals create a net positive. I’m sure there are. And I’m sure Snopes gives full weight to studies that show that Global Warming is a crock of sh!t.

I live in a county adjacent to Los Angeles. My next door neighbors are illegal and people live in both of the garages on the property. All of the stats above sound accurate and not exaggerated at all.
I heard that SNOPES is a husband and wife team funded by George Soros. I don’t know if it’s true or not. Maybe I should ask SNOPES. / I pay them no heed anymore. I’m sure all those stats are correct.
Net positives of illegal migrants:
1) Endless source of housekeepers.
2) Endless source of groundskeepers.
3) They breed like rats thus the two above never end
4) They all vote Democratic Party which means electoral power for that party.

I’d always suspected that Snopes was Leftist but I confirmed it for myself in person.
Remember when Prez Ebola stole the first election in 2008? There was a brave forthright State Farm agent by the name of Bud Gregg who posted an anti-Obama sign outside his agency.
The myth promoted by the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy is that Gregg was torn a new asshole by State Farm World Galactic Headquarters, protesters were demonstrating in front of his agency, etc and was forced to remove his sign and apologize abjectly. The Leftists would invariably post a Snopes link to back this up.
When I moved here to Louisiana I was driving down a street when I almost broke my neck looking over to see Bud Gregg’s agency sign. I promptly made an appointment to stop in and move all my insurance to an American patriot. While talking to Bud and his staff I learned that they had not received a single complaint, there never were any protesters, State Farm Corporate never said anything to him, after a while Gregg took down the sign voluntarily after he’d got his point across, they saw a big jump in new clients because of the sign….AND THE LEFTIST ASSHOLES AT SNOPES HAD NEVER EVER TRIED TO CONTACT THEM IN PERSON, BY PHONE, BY LETTER, BY EMAIL, BY FAX, BY SMOKE SIGNAL OR BY JUNGLE DRUM!!
If you told cops that they would get a $100 bounty for every illegal arrested, we could deport every one of them in six months. Throw in a kicker – you get to keep whatever money they have on them.

I guess the house next door and the one across the street where i lived in the SF Valley that were illegal alien clownhouses were just my imagination. The way they would park cars, trucks, wherever they felt like it was my imagination too. And i was just hearing things when they would play loud music all week at any hour of the day while drinking down a pallet of cervezas by wednesday morning. And the 10 kids split between 4 women and all the papis and vatos they were screwing That week fit quite comfortably and legally in the 2 bedroom house.
That echoes my experience, Anonymous. Once I counted 10 cars crammed in the long driveway that led to the 2-bedroom, 1-bath back house. I forgot to mention there is also a man living in a shed in the backyard.
On the bright side, at least they celebrate Christmas instead of Ramadan or Atheist Winter Solstice.
