GlobalPost:  Hawk Newsome cares deeply about America’s presidential election.

He and other activists in the Black Lives Matter movement have this week driven all the way from New York to Cleveland to demonstrate outside the Republican National Convention, couch-surfing with friends along the way. Next week, they’ll be doing the same in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention.

But one thing that Newsome and his friends say they won’t be doing in November is voting. For anyone.  more

  5. do you think if they really wanted to make a stand against the system they should go against convention and vote for trump?

    that will show the status quo not to take them for granted.

    by not voting they give up any influence they might have had don’t they?

    If he had any sense he’d be voting for Trump if he wants to send a message to the slave master, Democrat party.

This explains why at the DNC you are going to see at least 6 mothers of dead african Americans like Treyvon Martin, Michael Ferguson, Sandra Bland… Big risk, you want these BLM votes but will it turn off other Dems that may turn to Trump?! The media is going to have to walk on eggshells on what they cover next week. Maybe plagiarism-platitude-gate should have been saved for a Dem. Might be the better story over what is really going to go on.

    That’s good news! Protest the voting booth, it’s a protest against Hillary! I bet Trump scared the crap out of them when he brought up all the killings in Chicago and Detroit and it’s gong to stop. How Trump proposes to do it is a wild guess.

    If BLM is not going to vote until all black lives matter, when will they start protesting outside abortion clinics, that kill way more blacks than supposedly racist cops?

    Also, notice how many black FATHERS will be speaking at the DNC . . . wait for it . . . crickets!

  20. MM – Thanks for the link to the gotta-see video. What a woosie that reporter is. By the time my Dad was his age, he had flown US Army Air heavy bombers in the East European Theatre of WWII and come home. Think this will wimp can do that?

  21. Listen, all my Democratic friends. If you do vote, remember you will be voting Wednesday, and not on Tuesday, which is when the Republicans and others vote. In the name of safe spaces and outright decency, the United States Department of Safe Spaces & Non-Gender Discrimination and Stuff has set aside Wednesday for Democrats to vote.

    After all, it’s only faiiiiiiiir.

  22. Years ago I had a letter from someone complaining about rhea state agency for fining him. He hoped we had nothing but grief from collecting his fine, complained about ever having come to Florida.

    The real fun part was his PS in which he indicated he tore up his voter card.
    I was always thankful.
