Some Canadians who caught Wuhan Flu say they barely knew they were infected

‘Don’t blow things out of proportion. You don’t need to get three months’ worth of toilet paper.… You can get over it fairly easily’

National Post: For Canadian Craig Lee, possibly the worst symptom of the new coronavirus came on a bus that took him to a Japanese quarantine centre.

Wrapped up in a winter coat, wearing a face mask and surrounded by other cruise-ship passengers, he felt decidedly claustrophobic.

But through the 16 days after Lee first tested positive for the virus,  he experienced no other ill effects — apart from being away from his wife and son in Richmond Hill, Ont.

The infectious disease that has now been classified as a pandemic is striking fear throughout the world, not least because it has caused thousands of deaths, mostly among the elderly and unwell.

But for some Canadians who contracted SARS-CoV-2, the pathogen has been little more than an inconvenience.

“We felt perfectly fine, perfectly normal,” said Rose Yerex, 66, of Port Dover, Ont., who like Lee was infected on the Diamond Princess ship that became an inadvertent incubator for the virus. “We would have had no idea.”

Most of the 3,700 Diamond Princess passengers and crew were kept on the vessel for days after it docked in Yokohama, Japan, as the number of infected grew eventually to over 700. Of those, seven people died, all in their 70s and 80s.

But Lee said he heard that 80 per cent of the cruisers who tested positive were asymptomatic like him, Yerex and her husband. Researchers have reported that about half of the infected passengers never got sick.

  1. On the bright side, when this blows over there should be lots of bargains on toilet paper, soap, disinfectants and canned goods as the stores won’t be able to move their restock.

  2. This will turn out to be milder than a normal seasonal flu, but all the new controls that the people accept will not be mild and will never go away when the virus panic does (because it no longer serves a purpose).

People in fear believe bad things are going to happen to them and they can do nothing about it, and fear seeks to prove itself.

  3. My family all got sick right after Christmas this year, it started with one of the grandkids, which they got better in a few days, but still went to the doctor because their fever spiked so high all of a sudden. Then it spread to everyone else who had been in the house, I was the last to get it in January. I kept saying it wasn’t the flu or a normal virus, I of course was blaming it on illegals bringing in some new kind of virus. The symptoms were a high fever, cough, shortness of breath, dizziness and feeling like shit. By age seemed to be how long it lasted, kids two days, those in their 20’s less than a week, those in their 30’s almost 2 weeks. Mine was over 3 weeks, my husband the oldest was almost a month and he also had it the worst.

Now I believe it was probably this shit, but the thing is, we all got over it. Of course there will never be a way to know for sure, but it certainly was different than anything I’ve ever been sick with before.

  4. Here’s 2009’s swine flu h1n1:

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-flu-usa-idUSN1223579720100212

“WASHINGTON (Reuters) – H1N1 swine flu has killed as many as 17,000 Americans, including 1,800 children, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Friday. ”

0bama had nothing much to say about it and neither did the media. And they never blamed him, even though it wasn’t a thought in his head until after 1,000 people died.

  5. I’ve had swollen glands and a mild fever for a week now. I’m self quarantined simply because I’m retired, live alone and have a well stocked bar and pantry. For all I know I have a seasonal bug. If this is all there is, if it is what it is, then it’s no biggie.

  6. I don’t panic. However the overreaction by government is pissing me off and they can pretty much kiss my ass. The CDC is now recommending no events over 50 people.
I’m one of those people who will not say it’s okay for the government to do this bullshit even if Trump himself orders it and I won’t obey.

  7. I keep saying, but no one will believe me, everyone will be exposed to and “get” the WuFlu, but it will turn out to become as harmless as the Herpes Simplex 1 virus (cold sores). That is, if you have a fairly healthy immune system.

Yeah well, fuggin’ Canadians elected a socialist retard without barely realizing it so how much is their opinion worth?

  9. I was sick as a fucking dog for three months last year. Sep, Oct, Nov.

Well, not sick like influenza, but pretty low for three months.

I’ve had influenza once. It was when Fukushima fucked up. I was in bed for five days. After five days of going from the shithouse to the bed, delirious most of the time, I smoked a cigar and got drunk. I felt almost like a man again.

I’m not saying I had Kung Pow 19… I’m just saying I felt like dogshit for three fucking months. Some days were better than others, but most days it was just ass. It took another six weeks to get my singing voice back.

I think I’m on the bus with the Old Racist White Woman. We were fucking sick. Our son had it for a fortnight. Jennifer had it for two months. It stuck on me like shit on a blanket.

  10. When this HORSE SHIT is all over, the media and the panic industry will look like the biggest assholes and alarmist in history!

The median age in Italy is 47.5 years old.
China eats bat soup and is more polluted than Cardi b’s clam.

I hope they are all held to account for the panic and mental harm they have done.

Today on the news there was a young boy crying in fear as the PIECE OF SHIT REPORTER on CP24 asked him if he was scared!

    Recipe: Bloody Cesar
    1&1/2 shot vodka
6 0z of Mott’s Clamato (clam broth & tomato juice)
    5-10 drops of worshestire sauce
    5-10 drops of Tobasco
    4-6 ice cubes
    Salt & pepper
    1 slice of lime
served in a tall glass rimmed with celery salt.

This drink will clear your throat and get your appetite going for a nice rare steak!
