Despite some spectacular losses in South Carolina, there’s no reason for any of the also-rans to drop out today or tomorrow* — not with Super Tuesday just three days away.
[*I don’t consider Tom Steyer an actual candidate for President, so his dropping out last night doesn’t count in my rubric. Steyer should never have tossed his tartan tie into the ring to begin with.]
Klobuchar will stick it out because she has a good chance of winning Minnesota on Tuesday – or at least coming in second and scoring some delegates.
Buttigieg won’t drop out because in his mind he is the Savior we’ve been waiting for.
