Members of the South Carolina House have voted to add death by firing squad as a state execution method due to a lack of lethal injection drugs.
The bill, approved in a 66 to 43 vote on Wednesday, would require inmates to choose between being shot or electrocuted if there are no lethal injection drugs available, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
“The state is one of only nine to still use the electric chair and will become only the fourth to allow a firing squad,” the outlet continued:
The Senate already had approved the bill in March, by a vote of 32-11. The House only made minor technical changes to that version, meaning that after a routine final vote in the House and a signoff by the Senate, it will go to Republican Gov. Henry McMaster, who has said he will sign it.
“The state has had to postpone three executions due to a nationwide shortage of lethal injection drugs, caused by drug companies who wanted to crack down on how their products are being used,” the newspaper continued: MORE

We could always catapult the death row inmates through the blades of wind turbines as an alternative. It sure obliterates eagles & hawks.
There are currently 37 inmates on SC’s death row, 3 are out of appeals and it is predicted there will be a slew of new appeals now that this has been voted on. Wonder when the victim’s family will get justice?
Too bad the Feds have that little Tsarnaev puke in custody or I’d suggest introducing him to Old Sparky.

…yes, they even swab the guy’s arm with alcohol before installing the catheter they will kill them with.

I believe there’s one rifle in the squad that gets a blank cartridge. Like you can’t tell the difference when you pull the trigger. Better yet, If you’re supposed to be aiming chest/heart, what’s to prevent you accidentally going high to one between the eyes? I mean who’s gonna know who shot high?

Our country has become “soft” in so many ways. I believe in the death penalty and believe it should be carried out quickly and in some cases publicly as a deterrent. I also believe that three violent felonies should cost a person serious prison time then loss of citizenship plus deportation. Illegals who commit felonies should be transported to the far reaches of the planet with a chip for later identification if they ever return. If someone murders a child………bring them to my place by sundown……..got rope!
