KFI: Bon Homme County Sheriff Lenny Gramkow was not happy after he lost the Republican primary to one of his own deputies, so he relieved him of his duties just one minute after the polls closed. Mark Maggs was handed his termination letter and shared it on Facebook.
“Mark Maggs: This letter is to inform you that effective immediately you are terminated from the position of deputy sheriff for Bon Homme County. As of this moment you are no longer an employee of Bon Homme county. Please turn in all equipment belonging to Bon Homme County by 5 p.m. on June 6, 2018. Signed Lenny Gramkow, Bon Homme County Sheriff.” MORE
A little more on this story from the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan
Seems fair.
I don’t know how it is up yonder, but in Maryland it’s a License to Steal.
izlamo delenda est …
More tantrums by those that feel entitled. It’s not your job for life asshole, the people have spoken.
Trump should have sent the same letter to Obama.
Sheriff Longmire didn’t do that to Branch Connally!
In the Yankton Daily, the sheriff’s office is complaining that he can’t get his work done and they’re short-staffed. LOL.
Anytime a Deputy Sheriff decides to run against his Sheriff he should resign and take his chances. You have a duty to represent the Sheriff as his appointed deputy or quit.
Exactly, Tony R! Too bad that show went off the rails with the gay rodeo stuff and the stupid plot line about Longmires dead wife in Denver, among other things.
At least this is not wrongful termination!
@Third Twin: I can forgive them that because: Katee Sackhoff!
they should just fire the sheriff or tell him to resign now and put Maggs in if they are in such dire straights. I’ve worked in that county years ago. They were such good germans and hutterites.

He was going to fire me so I fired first
I’m sure there’s more to the story. If I were the current sheriff I’d watch my back come January.
What a sore loser that sheriff is. If he were smart, he’d kiss up to the new sheriff so that he can still have a job in the department when the new sheriff assumes the helm.
