Special Counsel Smith seeks to dismiss Jan. 6 charges against Trump

Smith is expected to resign before Trump is inaugurated

FOX: Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking a judge to drop all charges against President-elect Donald Trump stemming from Smith’s investigation into the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol breach, Fox News Digital has learned.

Judge Tanya Chutkan will need to approve the request before the case is dismissed.

After Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election earlier this month, Smith signaled he would begin winding down the case against Trump. The filing went live on the Department of Justice docket on Monday afternoon. more

  1. This might have something to do with the message Bannon sent to him last Friday. “You better find a country that has non extradition to the United States to move to because we’re coming after you.”

  2. They’re showing all their anti-Trump cards now; abandoning ship into deep, cold waters. This dude reminds me of the guy who dressed as a woman to escape the Titanic.

  3. I’d like to see them running and hiding for the rest of their lives. Should never able to fly, must be a rock somewhere they can hide under?
They aimed for the king and missed bigly. God himself had other plans.
    Glory to God.

  4. Sure chicken chit, ducking out to feel safe from justice showing up. He should be paying all the expenses he and his rats racked up along with Trumps. Hiding out is not justice!!

  5. Draw and quarter the bastard… there is nothig he can do to be forgiven of his evil deeds except for asking for forgiveness from The Lord Jesus Christ before he is executed – which i presume will never occur.
